Elmer’s Big Art Parades Raise Funds for Hospice Charities
Have you herd about Elmer’s Big Art Parades this year? Andersen Press teamed up with Wild in Art to bring a trio of public art trails to Britain’s towns and cities, featuring giant Elmer sculptures!
Over 150 Elmer sculptures were designed and painted by artists around the country, and then put on display around the streets and iconic locations in Suffolk, Plymouth and Tyne & Wear this summer. Available to all and free of charge to enjoy, the vibrant, quirky sculptures adorned with artwork by an array of artists, encouraged residents and visitors to explore areas they might not have ventured to before.
Smaller sculptures decorated by local children and young people were displayed in cultural and leisure venues in their area.
At the end of each trail the artists’ sculptures were auctioned to raise money for a local hospice charity, and the total raised was a staggering £765,000!
Look out for more trails in the future, including Elmer parading through the streets of Maidstone in 2020. Find out more about Elmer’s Big Heart of Kent Parade here: https://elmermaidstone.co.uk/
